2009 Landscape Ontario's Award of Excellence

The project began with the removal of a large, infected tree, old concrete walkway and damaged sod. We then had the opportunity to let our creativity flow.

The steps were unattractive but structurally sound so we applied a 3-steps process which covers existing concrete leaving a safe textured surface.

The curbing along both sides of the driveway was also in good shape. To create a focal point, pavers where convexed into the asphalt and the raised walkway was concaved into the front yard. To soften the landscape we used black rock, river rock and cocoa mulch. This would also serve to retain the soil. We also re- placed the sod, added new shrubs  and various plants.

This front yard has contributed to the overall beauty of the neighbourhood.
